Leakage power and timing optimization tools made available to Japanese physical design teams

NEWARK, Calif. –– August 5, 2008 – Prolific Inc., the final pass optimization company, today announced DSM Solutions Corp. as its sales representative for Japan. DSM Solutions will make Prolific’s ProPower and ProTiming optimization tools available to Japan-based semiconductor companies, providing silicon-proven technology that reduces leakage power by 20% to 75% and increases performance by 5% to 20%.

ProPower and ProTiming run in the physical implementation phase, or backend, of integrated circuit (IC) design. The tools run after the place and route flow is complete, and static timing analysis has been performed with Synopsys PrimeTime. ProPower and ProTiming both use PrimeTime as their timing engine, analyzing the impact of changes to the selection of standard cells from the existing libraries.
